Kudos from President, Prime Minister

President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday congratulated Team India which won the Commonwealth Bank Series.

“It is a fabulous victory. This is a victory based on teamwork and strong determination,” the President said in a message.

The Prime Minister intervened in the Rajya Sabha debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s address to congratulate the team. — PTI

Union Sports Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar praised the players for their “magnificent” performance.

The dedication and spirit with which the series was played was brilliant, he said.

In Mumbai the BCCI announced a cash award of Rs. 10 crore to the team.
