Big B’s houses get security as unrest continues

Police personnel were deployed outside Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalows in Juhu, Jalsa and Prateeksha, on Monday.
There were reports about the actor’s residence being attacked.

According to media reports, MNS activists on Sunday night attacked Bachchan’s Juhu residence, Prateeksha. The attackers on motorbikes threw a glass bottle inside the bungalow and sped away. However, the Juhu police denied it.

“There were no broken pieces of glasses and nor has anyone from the Bachchan family complained,” said Deepak Katkade, senior police inspector of Juhu police station. “We have deployed security for Bachchan’s residences Jalsa and Prateeksha,” he added.

On Monday, there were more incidences of clash between MNS and Samajwadi Party supporters and eight people were arrested. Thirty-one accused from both parties, who were arrested for rioting on Sunday. They were given bail on a bond of Rs 3,000 each on Monday.

There was unrest in areas near Shivaji Park. A group of MNS workers damaged two taxis and a private vehicle in Dadar (West). There were spurts of violence in Kalyan and Thane with more attacks on North Indian hawkers in Thane. MNS activists disrupted the screening of a Bhojpuri film in Kalyan and Thane.
